Growing up in an Eritrean household, spice wasn't a warning — it was the foundation. Our food is bold, layered,
and built for sharing, usually wrapped in injera, a spongy flatbread that pulls a whole meal together in one bite.

When I became a certified sommelier, I kept running into the same outdated rule: spicy food is the enemy of wine. But East Africa has fermented beverage traditions that were made for this food. I'm on a mission to prove it.

Grace's Pick is bringing that mission to Toronto — an Eritrean food & wine pairing party where we taste, explore, and break the rules together.
